Scissors and Number Corner

After a little guided discovery of using scissors, the children participated in an activity where they practiced cutting various shaped lines. As you can see by the pictures, they were all engaged in this simple activity.

I introduced the children to Number Corner, which is the calendar component to our math program. The calendar markers for this month feature 4 shapes: triangle, square, circle, and rectangle arranged in an ABCDABCD pattern.
Each day we will be finding the date on the calendar, identifying patterns, learning the days of the week, and counting the days in school.
