Orientation to Fundations

This week we began our Fundations program. The children were introduced to Echo and Baby Echo. Ask your child what type of animal Echo and Baby Echo are. We learned that Echo and Baby Echo are going to help us learn our letters and their sounds. We also learned that the lines have names (sky line, plane line, grass line, and worm line), which helps with forming letters correctly. The first letter that was introduced to us this week was the letter Tt. We were able to practice writing this letter in our Student Notebooks. Next week, we'll practice writing it on the whiteboards. With learning each letter, the children also learn a word that will help them remember the sound each letter makes. For example, a top is associated with the letter Tt. Next week, 2 more letters will be introduced!
