Today in math we learned the the number rhymes for numbers 1 through 5. The children practiced writing the numbers on whiteboards. Tomorrow, I will introduce a new math station that has them practicing writing these numbers.
We read a book about Johnny Appleseed and we were wondering what is in his knapsack as we were noticing in the pictures that he is always carrying it with him. After the read aloud, the children drew on a post-it note what they thought was in the knapsack and added it to our chart. We also completed a guided drawing activity of Johnny Appleseed, which is the first part of a three step project on apples. Stay tuned for the final project!
Lastly, we had another butterfly emerge from it's chrysalis over the weekend. We released the butterfly this morning. We are waiting for one more the emerge.
