Forest Friday and Worms, oh my!

Last Friday, Recycle Rhonda came in to the classroom for one last time to teach us how worms are helpful creatures.  We learned not only how the worms help the earth, but also that they have no eyes or teeth and they breathe through their skin.  They also don't like the light.  Here is a video showing some children holding the compost worms (these are different than the worms living in the ground).

In the afternoon, we ventured outside for our Forest Friday workshop.   This week, the children had to find a sit spot (an area in our forest area where they sit quietly to observe nature for a period of time).  After our sun salutation, we will always go to our sit spots to do some reflection about nature and then come together to share what we noticed.  For our activity, we had the children partner up and find shapes in nature.  Below you'll find some examples.
