Mrs. Tatlock came back into our classroom for another guidance class! Kelso, a frog puppet, introduce us to his friend, Lily. We learned where Kelso and Lily live, Willow pond. We heard about a problem Lily had with the ducks in the pond. The ducks were chasing bugs away, the pond was noisy, and the ducks were splashing. All 3 of these issues made Lily feel very frustrated and she was in mud mind! Mrs. Tatlock brought the children's attention to Kelso's Choices (the wheel with 9 choices children can use to solve small problems). Last week, the children were introduced to the choice of
sharing and taking turns. This week, Mrs. Tatlock introduced 4 new choices:
walk away, tell them to stop, walk away, and
talk it out. See if your child can show you what each choice looks and sounds like. After, she asked the children which choice Lily could use to help solve her small problem with the ducks.
