Wilderness Wednesdays and a Celebration

We had another fun day outside, exploring nature!  For the afternoon, we traveled to the hill near the parking lot to find a tree to adopt for the year.  After observing the different trees that were around the area, we voted on one.  Then, we made some observations about the tree.  We noticed there was a squirrel's nest in the tree and the leaves are jagged.  The children drew a picture of the tree in their science journals.  Take a look at the pictures and videos from the day.

As a school, we filled the beehive jar, which meant it was time for a celebration!  The entire school had a dance party in the courtyard.  It was so much fun!  Here are some videos from the celebration.

Our last two butterflies emerged from their chrysalises this morning.  We released them this afternoon.  Here is a video showcasing the excitement from the children.
