Sunlight and Shadows

On Friday, we had our first Four Wind's workshop, which focused on sunlight and shadows.  The children learned as the Earth spins,  we experience day and night and the importance of the sun.  The children explored how shadows change length depending on the angle of the light source.  They also carried out an investigation that had them tracing each other's shadows to observe and measure how their shadows change over time.  Lastly, they did an experiment where ice cubes were placed in the sun and some were placed in the shade to compare what happens when ice melts in the sun vs. the shade.
