Names, Math Stations and Airplanes

We read the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.  We realized Chrysanthemum had 13 letters in it.  We wanted to see how many letters were in our names.  So we created a graph showing how may letters were in our names.  Then we shared what we noticed.

Today we had our first introduction to math stations.  The children explored with polydrons, unifix cubes, and pattern blocks.  The next couple of weeks, we'll keep exploring these manipulatives along with others.  Here are pictures during math stations.

Making airplanes has been a highlight during explore time.  Check out these videos.
