Monarch Caterpillars and Buzzy Celebration!

Waiting to dump our buzzies into the school wide buzzy jar!

We filled our class buzzy jar in 2 days!  The children wanted to estimate how many buzzies were in the jar and then count them.  We counted 71 buzzies!  For our celebration we had extra recess.

Mrs. Boutin brought in 6 monarch caterpillars into the classroom on Friday for us to watch go through the metamorphosis stages.  When we returned on Tuesday, all the caterpillars had changed into their chrysalises.  Now, we are eagerly awaiting 6 butterflies to emerge from their chrysalises.  We are wondering if they will hatch all at the same time?
