DOT DAY

Today was International Dot Day, which was inspired by the book, The Dot, written by Peter Reynolds. The book shares the story of a girl named Vashti, who begins a journey of self-discovery after she is dared by her teacher to “make her mark.” This wonderful story encourages the creative spirit in all of us. You can learn more about this book, at Fablevision’s website.

After the story, the children created beautiful dot pictures using watercolors and paper circles (they had the choice of using markers, crayons, watercolors, and the cut out circles to create their picture). The children did an amazing job with their pictures! They are incredible artists. Take a look at our DOT pictures!

  1. Mrs. Read's Class,
Thank you for sharing your dots with us! They are so pretty and shiny and cool! They look like a rainbow. We like your dots, it looks like you worked really hard on them. You must be learning more stuff while you're doing dots. We will be posting our dots soon so you can see them on our blog.
    Love, Mrs. Dyer's Class
