Seeds and Plants

Last week the children planted their own flower seeds. They got to choose from Forget-me-Not,Zinnia, Nasturtium seeds. After, the children made observations of their seeds and drew what their seeds looked like in their Flower Observation Journal.
Then, they wrote a I wonder statement. Over the next several weeks, the children will continue to make observations of their plant and record the information in their journal. Ask your child to describe their seeds to you and see if they can name the type of plant they planted.

On Monday, the children learned about the different parts of a plant and their functions through a read aloud. Then, they drew a diagram of a plant.
