Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

What a beautiful day to visit the pumpkin patch! The sun was shinning and it wasn't too cold. The only downfall was the corn maze was muddy, but that didn't stop the children from finding the token that they needed to get a piece of candy!

The children enjoyed the corn maze, which was in the shape of Winnie the Pooh! They learned some interesting facts about bees. After finishing the maze, the children got to have a special treat: a lollipop. YUM! While listening to Mary and enjoying our lollipops, we learned so much about pumpkins and what we needed to grow them(ask your child what the 3 things we need to grow pumpkins). There are many different size seeds, which produce different size pumpkins. The seeds are dipped in a special mixture to prevent bugs from eating them while in the ground. We even got to measure a pumpking and found out that it weighed around 700 lbs! After, each child got to pick a pumpkin to bring home. Enjoy!
