New Work Place

This week the children were introduced to a new math work place: Which Bug Will Win?. This activity combines graphing and counting while exploring probability. To complete this activity, the children choose a spinner, recording sheet and circle the spinner they chose on the recording sheet. Then, they spin the spinner and mark the appropriate box above one of the bugs to show the results. The children continue to spin and record their results until one column is completely full.

The children have continued to work on forming their numbers 1-10 correctly in their number packets, on whiteboards, and through sky writing. Also this week, we sorted bug picture cards by bugs that have antennas and bugs that don't have antennas. Then, we shared what we noticed using a mathematician dyad. In the video below, you will hear and see what a dyad looks like in Kindergarten.
