Insects!

On Monday, we had our first Four Winds workshop, which focused on the topic of Insects. Each workshop begins with a puppet show, which the children love! During the puppet show, they were introduced to Aunt June (insect fairy), Gregory grasshopper, Wendy walking stick, Danny dragonfly, Wally woolly bear, and Maria Monarch. The children learned how each insect has a special adaptations that allow them to survive. After learning about what makes an insect an insect (6 legs and 3 body parts), the children had to put together an insect using felt pieces. Then, we went outside to explore for insects. We were all excited to share the different insects that we found. We even found a huge grasshopper! Next month's Four Winds workshop will be on Beavers.
