This past week we had another Four Winds workshop, which focused on sound. The children learned how sound was made (through vibrating objects) and how sound is important for animals when finding food and staying safe from predators. The children participated in 3 different stations all focused on sound. At one of the stations, the children had to find two containers that produced the same sounds. At another station, the children were using various materials/containers to absorb sound waves coming from a phone. The last station had the children investigating how sound travels through solid materials. Lastly, the children had fun experimenting with string telephones.
