This month's calendar pattern, which is an ABC pattern, revolves around events that happen in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The pictures were already created for us! So, the children had to only color them. Once they were colored, we sorted the pictures by morning, afternoon, and evening.
In Our Month in School Chart, we are continuing to use the pennies to count the days we are in school for March and recognizing that when we have 5 pennies, they can be traded for a nickel.
In math, the children were introduced to new work places this past week: Beat You to 20 Cents and Spin & Write. In Beat You to 20 Cents,
In Spin and Write, involves reading and writing numbers 11 through 18. In this work place, which is very similar to Which Numeral Will Win?, the children spin a spinner, read the number, find the number on their recording sheet and trace over the dotted number. This is great practice with recognizing and writing -teen numbers!
