Visiting the Apple Orchard

It's hard to get all 17 of us to look at the same person! At least we stayed in our spots. 😀
Today, we traveled to Chapin's Apple Orchard.  We learned all about apples, bees and making cider.  The children went to three stations: apple picking, apple cider, and bees.  In the orchard, the children picked Freedom apples. They even got to eat one!  They learned about graphing and the importance of the fence around the apple trees.  At the second station, the children got to watch apple cider being made using a press.  Ask them how many apples were used to make cider for the entire class, plus the chaperones.  The last station had us in the barn.  We learned about the importance of bees in the orchard.  After, the children got to watch the bees in the hive.

We had a wonderful time and we were so thankful that it didn't pour on us!

Pictures from our trip.
