This week we finished learning all about apples. These past few weeks, we've been reading several books on apples, including a variety of fiction and non-fiction books. The children have been sharing new learning after we've read a non-fiction book about apples. The children have also completed several activities around apples. Below are few projects that they've completed.
Johnny Appleseed

We read a book about Johnny Appleseed, which so happened to be the same day as his birthday! After, the children completed this adorable art project, which had them drawing Johnny Appleseed and creating an apple tree using construction paper. This was a great art project to build those fine motor skills and work on following teacher directions!
Labeling an Apple
First, we labeled an apple as a class on the whiteboard. Next, the children built an apple by cutting pieces and gluing them onto paper. Last, they labeled the parts of an apple.
The Seasons of an Apple Tree
After reading the books
The Apple Pie Tree and
The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree, the children completed a drawing activity that had them drawing what an apple tree would like like in the 4 different seasons. They did a great job adding details to each picture and showing what an apple tree looks like in winter, spring, summer, and fall.
