The Wild Things

The book Where the Wild Things Are has been the focused for several projects the children have completed in the past week.  After the book was read, we discussed the characters in the story and the setting.  The children drew and wrote about the setting.  They also worked on making a text-to-self connection by sharing what they do when they are feeling wild.

As a fun art project, the children drew and painted the setting of the book.  Next, they created their own wild thing, which was then placed on top of their setting they created.  Their "wild things" look amazing and each one of them are so unique.
