Our School Community

As we have been learning about our community in which we live in, we've also been looking at our school community. We brainstormed a list of people who are in our school community and discussed what their job is and how they help us be successful and have fun while we are at school. Then, we created a School Community Quilt. Each child designed a person in our school using paper, yarn, and markers. They did an amazing job!

We have also continued to use Kidspiration in the computer lab.
Last week, we created a web with things that we would find in a community. Here is an example of what the children were creating.

The Monday before Thanksgiving, we had a Burlington Police Officer, Officer Badeau (Ms. Sarah's husband, come into our classroom. We learned what his job is like, got to touch the handcuffs, and learned about the different objects he carries on his belt. The children were very excited to have a police officer in our classroom!
