Is it a Predator or a Prey?

Another fantastic 4 Winds workshop was put on by our wonderful volunteers on Monday. This month's theme focused on predators and prey. We learned that some animals are considered carnivores (eat other animals) and some animals are considered herbivores. During the puppet show, we learned some differences between adaptations of an animal that hunts (a fox) and an animal that is hunted (a rabbit). Ask your child what the rabbit does to prevent it from being eaten by other animals. Then, we looked at pictures of animals that were considred prey and animals that were considered predators. After, the children were put into groups and had to act out a skit that involved the children pretending to be predators or prey. Ask your child what animal he or she was and then ask them if they were a predator or a prey.
