Winter Ways

Last Wednesday, we had another hands-on Four Winds workshop.  This month's theme was focused on investigating ways animals survive the winter months.  The children were introduced to the following vocabulary words: dormant, active, hibernation, and migration.  The children had fun sorting different animals based on what they did for the winter months.  In small groups, the children took turns acting out different animals while the rest of the class had to guess what animal they were based on the clues given.  After, we ventured outside to find some animal tracks.  We found a lot of rabbit tracks, deer tracks and of course some dog tracks.  We even got to see a rabbit hopping in the grass!
