We had a great first day of kindergarten! The children did well with listening and following directions (there was a lot!). We learned about our school rules (be safe, be kind, be responsible) and how we can earn warm buzzies (more about this at Curriculum Night). We did a guided discovery of the cafeteria learning how to be responsible with our trash and sitting at the tables. Thankfully the rain held out and we were able to sneak in a second recess. The children had p.e. today. We also had a nice time exploring our classroom this morning. This was a great way for the children to meet new friends!

We also read the book
Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready For Kindergarten. After, the children shared how they got ready for kindergarten with the class and also by drawing it on paper. Their work will come home tomorrow in their child's Friday Folder.
