It's All About the Patterns

In math, we've been learning all about patterns, including labeling patterns, creating and expanding patterns, and explaining how we know something is a pattern.  After extensive work on patterns, the children were introduced to a new math station where they are building and expanding patterns using unifix cubes.  Then, they record their pattern on their recording sheet.

One of the fun ways we created patterns in the classroom was by using manipulatives to create patterns.  Then, the children used sticky-notes to label their patterns (abc, aabb, abba, abcd, etc.).
