Fun October Crafts

We had fun completing a few fun crafts in the month of October.  Take a look below at our Creepy Carrots and Frankenstein's.

Creepy Carrots

We read the book Creepy Carrots, which is a book about a character, Jasper, who loves picking carrots from the carrot patch.  However, the carrots have had enough and decide to "creepy" up on Jasper.  Jasper gets spooked out and devises a plan to stop them from scaring him.  After the read aloud, the children wrote and illustrated a way to stop the creepy carrots and created their own creepy carrot.

Ask your child to share what Jasper's plan was then have your child share his/her plan that he/she came up with to stop the creepy carrots.

I would put lollipops around my house.

I would set a trap that would drop a piece of concrete on the carrot.

I would make the house spooky.

Crankestein

We read the book Crankestein, which was about a Frankenstein who gets awfully cranky.  After the read aloud, the children shared something that makes them cranky.  Then, they completed an art project that had them making their own Frankenstein out of construction paper.
