Guided Reading Book Bags

This week was the first week of Guided Reading groups. Your child will have a book bag tucked inside their Friday folders which includes two letters for families to read about the reading books

. The groups will be fluid and ever changing as the children make their way on the developmental timeline of reading. Skill work will eventually be incorporated into the weekly reading groups but for now we are celebrating the process of receiving books and group work. I encourage all families to enjoy the books with their child and to please help them remember that the book bags must come back on Monday with the books included. In the past, some children thought the books were theirs to keep at home. Completely understandable. Each week your child will receive a new book during Guided Reading groups which will continue throughout the year.
