This week, we read the book Turkey Trouble, which is about a turkey who is trying not to get eaten by disguising himself as different animals on the farm. Before reading the book, the children predicted what they thought turkey trouble meant and they also made predictions about what they thought the turkey would disguise himself as at the end of the book. The children learned a new vocabulary word as well: disguise. See if your children can either tell you what this words means or show you what it means.
After the read aloud, we completed a follow-up project based on this book. The children came up with their own idea of how they would disguise their turkey and wrote what the reward would be if someone found their turkey. Listen below to our video to see what they came up with.
Also this week, the children completed an art and writing project around being thankful and Thanksgiving. The children created these adorable turkeys. Then, they wrote and illustrated what they were thankful for. Listen below to our video to see what we are thankful for (sorry about their heads being cut off. On the Ipad, it looked fine.).
