Four Winds: Song Birds
The Friday before vacation, we had our wonderful Four Winds volunteers come in to put on a workshop, which focused on songbirds. We learned that songbirds sing special songs to defend their territory, attract their mate, to locate food, and to send messages when they or other birds are in danger. We also heard some common bird songs and learned about the cycles in which the songbirds sing throughout the day. We even went exploring outside to look for birds and to listen for their songs. Unfortunatly, we only saw and heard 1 bird.
