Last Friday, we celebrated Dot Day! On Saturday it was International Dot Day, which was inspired by the book, The Dot, written by Peter Reynolds. The book shares the story of a girl named Vashti, who begins a journey of self-discovery after she is dared by her teacher to “make her mark.” This wonderful story encourages the creative spirit in all of us. You can learn more about this book, at Fablevision’s website.
The children created beautiful dot trees using paper circles. We also completed a community dot picture where each of us picked a circle to watercolor any way we wanted to. The children are incredible artists! The children also dressed up in dots and we had a special dot snack (mini-cupcakes with dots on them).
