Applesauce, Butterfly and a Celebration!
While we were getting our pictures taken yesterday, our last butterfly emerged from its chrysalis, which was very exciting for all of us. Before lunch today, we released the butterfly out in our school's garden. The children started chasing it as it would fly, then land on the ground, and repeat this process.
This morning we made applesauce! Each child helped with cutting the apples into smaller pieces and placing them into the pot. Our apples cooked throughout the morning and then we enjoyed some yummy applesauce before our school wide celebration this afternoon. The applesauce was very brown (I put a little too much cinnamon in it), but it tasted very good to most of us. Ask your child what they thought about the applesauce.
This afternoon we had a school wide celebration for filling out our school honey jar. It only took us 3 weeks to fill it up! Prior to this celebration, the children created crowns, which will be worn each time we have a school wide celebration. Then, the entire school entered the gym and participated in singing our school song and doing the honey bee dance. Below are the links to hear the school song and to see the video of the honey bee dance.
