Inspired by Valentines Day, some of our math work stations had a Valentines theme to them. At one station, the children were drawing a Love Bug by rolling a die and drawing the corresponding body part that matched the number of dots on the die. At another station, Ms. Rowe had created a Valentine Memory game that had the children matching numbers 1-20 to ten frames with hearts in them. The last station had the children graphing candy hearts.
During our literacy time, the children wrote a Valentines Five Senses poem. They had to come up with things that they love to taste, see, hear, smell, and touch. After, they illustrated some, if not all, of the things they loved on a heart.
At the end of the day, the children had a great time reading their cards and enjoying some special treats. Thank to those families who provided the treats for the children.
