Today, we traveled to the Audubon to learn more about maple sugaring. We finally had a beautiful day for our adventure in the woods. The children were split into 3 groups. Each group did the same activities, but just in different order. The children gathered sap from the buckets, tasted sap, helped drill a hole in a maple tree for a spout, visited the Sugarhouse and learned about the evaporator, learned about maple trees, and even tasted all 4 different grades of syrup. Ask your child which grade was their favorite.
It was a wonderful field trip and all the children seemed to have enjoyed it! Many of them said their favorite part was tasting the maple syrup. Ask your child what his or her favorite part was.
