Meet Rachel!

Rachel Horton, a UVM intern, will be joining our classroom for the fall semester (from now until early December).  Please read further to find out more about Rachel.  I'm very fortunate to have her join me in the classroom!

Hello families and students!

My name is Rachel Horton and I am a senior at the University of Vermont majoring in Early Childhood Education with a minor in American Sign Language and Special Education. Throughout college, I have student taught at the UVM preschool, and third grade at JFK Winooski School. I am thrilled to begin my student teaching in at your school this semester!

To share some information about myself: I was born and raised in Burlington and love hiking and everything about the outdoors! I am fluent in American Sign Language: this summer I got the amazing opportunity to teach Kindergarten at a Deaf school in Connecticut. I love animals, my two favorites being dogs and elephants. My favorite colors are red and blue. In my free time I like to run with my friends, read, play the piano or do arts and crafts.

I can’t wait to get to know all of you, thank you for welcoming me into your class community!

Sincerely,
Ms. Horton
