Planting seeds led nicely into our next writer's workshop unit: how-to writing (informational writing). The children began writing how to plant a flower and will finish that up this week. Then, they will move onto another how to writing piece. I wonder what they will choose to teach me how to do? 😀

Plants and Tadpoles, Oh My!
Yesterday, we had a discussion about what plants needed and what we need to do to take care of them. After our discussion, the children planted zinnia seeds. We will watch our plants grow in the coming weeks and make observations and document the growth.

This morning, we decided to go on a tadpole hunt in the rain garden, right outside the classroom. Some of the children had fun catching the tiniest tadpoles for us to be able to observe in our classroom. We will be anxiously waiting to see what changes they go through in the coming weeks.
