What A Week!

This past week our class took on many different roles from engineers to gardeners to writings for change. As they enter each new role they were excited to get to work.

Engineers:
This week we finished up our engineering projects! Each group raced to finish their projects so they could share them with their fellow classmates. Some were broken during testing and had to be rebuilt and others were so tricky to figure out that they worked on them until the last buzzer. However in the end we had 2 bridges, a bird feeder, a Lego mover and 5 fish feeders.

Writing:
We started a new unit this week and we have been writing persuasive letters talking about how to make our world a better place. As we finished up writing our first drafts the class broke up into pairs and had an editing meeting. Each pair was asked to read their writing and then receive/ give a compliment sandwich.

Singers Save the World
During snack this week we read a chapter book about going green and in the book there was a song. The song is sung to the tune of " This Land is Your Land" and helps remind us how we can help out the Earth. I am sure some of you heard your child humming it on the way home and if not here are the words for you to sing with them.

Ready for another fantastic week!
