Pattern Block Designs

This week during math the children were introduced to a new math activity: Pattern Block Designs.

In this activity, the children are constructing a design, first using pattern blocks, and then transferring the design onto paper using paper pattern blocks.  The last step, is recording the number of each shape used in the design. 

We also used the geoboard app on the iPad's to create 2 dimensional shapes along with creating designs.
