Calling All Owls

Last week we had another Four Wind's workshop, which focused on Owls.  The children learned about the different adaptations that owls have including their soft wings, big eyes and their amazing hearing.  They also learned that owls have 2 stomachs and swoop down to capture their prey (ask your child what owls eat).  The children got to explore owl pellets by dissecting them and seeing what the owl ate by examining the bones they found in their pellets.  The majority of the class was really into taking apart the pellets and hunting for bones!  As a finishing touch, the children glued their findings onto paper, which will be sent home this week in their Friday folders.
