All About Leaves

Leaves was the topic for this month's Four Winds workshop, which the children participated in last week.  New science words such as photosynthesis and chlorophyll were introduced to the children. The children learned that leaves come in all shapes and sizes and how the sunlight along with water and air help produce food for the plant.

The children explored different types of leaves by looking closely at them and making observations about what they noticed.  They also found a way to sort them.  Next, the children each created their own leaf creature.  The children were so engaged in this project and were very creative!  Lastly, they participated in some leaf rubbing activities.
