Teeth and Skulls

On Monday, our Four Winds volunteers came into our classroom to talk about animal skulls and their teeth. The children learned that the type of teeth an animal has determines the type of food they eat. We learned the three different types of teeth an animal has: incisors, canines, and molars. After the puppet show, the children examined three different skulls (a racoon, a grey fox, and a muskrat) and looked closely at each animals teeth. They also ate carrots, popcorn, and twizlers using the three different types of teeth and created a drawing of a skull with teeth.
