Today we went to the Audubon Center and had the opportunity to explore the ponds and the stream. At the Beaver Pond, we saw a beaver lodge and heard frogs croaking. We also used binoculars to explore the surroundings and draw what we would see at a pond. At the stream, which was located in the woods, we had the opportunity to explore the stream by looking for critters. We got to use nets, look under rocks and walk through the water! At the Peeper Pond, we got to see what lives in and near a pond. Some children and adults caught frogs, tadpoles, salamanders/newts, and even a crayfish. Some children even saw turtles!
It was a fun filled field trip as the children had so much fun exploring pond life!
